Maenam Viewpoint Trek - A short hike offering grand views over Samui!

View over Lipa Noi and Ban Taling Ngam on a not so clear day ...

Nathon South - Maenam Viewpoint - 1-2 hours

The Maenam ViewpointsTrek is a fairly easy trek offering a grand view over the north side of Samui.

We will start high above Nathon at about 375 meters above sea level. Our hike starts at a dirt road steadily climbing about 100 meters in height, but not too steep.

The trail follows the mountain rim and leads us trough plantations offering stunning views over Nathon (west side of Samui) as welll as the mountains of Samui. The road brings us over the top to the Maenam Side and continues going down on a old half concrete half dirt road, through lush evergreen forests leading us to the first viewpoint.

We will go back the same way but ending with a short side step of the trail, offering a gorgeous view over Lipa Noi and Ban Taling Ngam (west side) with the 5 islands in the background and on a clear day we can even see the mainland.

A short and rather easy hike that basically offers it all: A Samui mountain experience with Grand Views over both the North and West side of Samui.

or continue to Maenam

If you do not mind to climb a bit more, we do not have to go back the same way but could continue to the Maenam side. First we go down through the valley and lush green forests and up on the other side where we will follow the ridge all the way to Maenam again offering stunning views.

A bit more strenous than going back the same way but still a rather easy hike of 1-2 hours in total. We can decide to continue or go back while walking. Just see how it goes and take it from there.

NOTE: We advise to wear shoes for this hike to prevent any injuries. The sand can be very slippery when dry so you need a good grip.
