Nathon - Mountain Ridge - valley 3-4 hours
The Nathon Mountain Ridge and ValleyTrek is a strenuous trek of 13.5 km around the Valley of Nathon.
We will start at a dirt road about 200 meter above sea level, that will lead us uphill to the mountain pass from where we will continue our hike following the ridge of the mountain all the way to the top (450 meter), A sometimes rather steep and steady climb on a beautifull trail leading trough different forests of lush evergreen vegetation with views over both the north and the west side of Koh Samui.
Close to the top the trail becomes even smaller and provides a true jungle experience, leading us along the top going down on the other side. On this side we will follow a dirt road to go down, back to the paved road where once more we will be rewarded with a stunning view over the west side of Samui.
We will stay on this road up till the mountain pass from where we will follow another dirt road continuing around the valley of Nathon. One last but short climb brings us over the last mountain before going down on a very old paved road through small plantations. We will enjoy a last gorgeous view over the Valley of Nathon before coming down at the regular paved road.
We advise to wear shoes for this hike to prevent any injuries. The sand can be very slippery when dry so you need a good grip.
The tour will take 3 up to 4 hours depending on our pace and the lengths and amount of our rests.
